Driver Training - Christine Moody (Transport Manager)
Back to the Transport Homepage

Cornwall Centre for Volunteers Transport department has been providing ongoing training for drivers.

In 2003 / 2004 we concentrated on Child Protection / Vulnerable Adult Awareness Training which drivers found extremely useful. It presented them with answers to major causes for concern, how to protect their own safety and that of the passengers they transport. Many thanks to Liz Rudling the trainer - formerly of the British Red Cross, for her sensitive and informative presentations.

Autumn 2004 One day Appointed Person First Aid Courses were offered in various venues around the County courtesy of St Johns Ambulance Brigade. These have yet to be completed. Our photographs show drivers attending the Par Headquarters course St Austell. The course full covered the topics recommended by the HSE for emergency first aid training, including resuscitation, unconsciousness delegation and managing incidents in an emergency.

All our training has been made possible with funding from the Community Futures Fund (CFF) and we would like to express our sincere thanks to Claire Mountford and her team for providing us with this opportunity which not only benefits our drivers but the Community in general.
